Candidate for Sutter County Supervisor, District 1

The people of Sutter County, CA, deserve strong and dedicated leadership in their elected officials. We need leaders who will be responsible and accountable and who will work for the best interests of our community. As Supervisor, I will work diligently to find solutions to the many current and any future challenges we face.

I will fight for:

  • Conservative spending, balanced budgets and no Supervisor raises.
  • Protection of our agricultural lands and right to farm issues.
  • Private property rights; reforming eminent domain laws
  • I will also fight to protect our water and other natural resources in particular, the Sutter Buttes
  • Smart Growth principles to ensure our rural community and small town character
  • Protection of our citizens’ life and property by supporting law enforcement and other emergency services

I will pursue ways to improve our area’s economy, infrastructure and flood/levee protection and any other concerns important to the people of Sutter County.

My qualifications:

  • U.S. Army: Army Security Agency as a Russian Linguist serving in Berlin at the height of the Cold War
  • B.A. degree from Chico State University
  • Over 25 years as an Analyst in various levels of local, state and federal agencies.

I serve Live Oak and Sutter County on the following boards and committees:

  • Vice Chair, Sutter County General Plan Update Advisory Committee
  • Steering Committee, Live Oak General Plan Update
  • Chair, Live Oak Planning Commission
  • Chair, Stewards of the Sutter Buttes
  • Vice Chair, Consolidated Area Housing Authority of Sutter County
  • Community Relations Committee (with Leo Chesney Center)
  • Sutter Community Affordable Housing

I am invested in securing the future of Sutter County by listening and acting on people’s concerns. I am running for supervisor to make informed decisions and improve the management of the county and the county’s resources.

I also believe that some issues will require legislative changes and will work towards those changes locally and at the state level when necessary.
